Gonzaga NP program

Nursing Students NP Students

I am planning to apply to Gonzaga ADN to MSN program, is there anyone who attended their online NP program. Do they help finding preceptors , I know they don't actually find preceptors for u but one of the advisors told me that they have a database of preceptors which is quite helpful.

And how is the program overall. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I am in the second semester of 7. They do not help at all with preceptors. They do have a document that lists where prior students had preceptors, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will precept again. Also we got an email saying they were tightening the standards even more for preceptors. They are pretty strict about who precepts you, their experience, the documentation they need to be considered, etc which is good because they don't allow just anyone to precept but challenging at the same time.

I haven't gotten to that part yet though. I am just in the online class portion and it is going really well, completely doable so far. My three teachers have been really responsive, I have never waited long for a response. Really interesting classmates too.

I'm glad to hear the program is going well for you. I am in the process of applying to Gonzaga. Can I ask how much "teaching" the program and instructors do? Do you feel you are teaching yourself? Are there any ppt presentations? webinars and videos? Do you have direction on what material to concentrate on?

Thanks :)

Hello, well I'm considering Gonzaga now since reading about it on here and taking a look at their program. However, I saw this:

"Gonzaga is regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Gonzaga’s nursing program is also accredited by Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)." - so, was wondering if anyone can shed some light on exactly what this means? I'm an RN practicing in California, which is one of the few states that Gonzaga will allow matriculation from for their PMHNP track. Will I be able to sit for my exam in Cali? How about a state that's not on their list, Hawaii for example? (Which is where I want to have my practice, ultimately.) Thanks!
