HELLO, I AM AN RN, WITH BSN, M.ED IN HEALTH PROMOTION. I HAVE BEEN A FULL TIME MOM WITH MY THREE CHILDREN FOR ABOUT THE LAST NINE YEARS. MY BACKGROUND IS VARIED, BUT MOSTLY I HAVE WORKED IN HEALTH PROMOTION, FOR INSTANCE, PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING, HEALTH EDUCATION AND SCHOOL NURSING, AS WELL, AS HAVING MY HEALTH EDUCATION CERTIFICATION. I AM NOW READY TO RETURN TO THE WORKFORCE, HOWEVER, I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE ON OBTAINING LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION AFTER HAVING NOT WORKED IN SEVERAL YEARS. I AM INTERESTED IN BECOMING A SCHOOL NURSE IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF MASSACHUSETTS. ANY ADVICE? THANK YOU.

Congrats for deciding to go back to work and super congrats for choosing to stay home with your children. I take it that you have kept up your licensure - I have not and have been out of nursing since 1993. I am looking for a refresher course (evening) before I take the RN- Nclex. I am looking and looking but can't seem to find a good refresher course apart from the Kaplan and I don't think that is enough for me at this time.
Anyway sorry to go on but I wanted to say good for you to get back into your professions outside the home!
