Going Back Into The Work Force

HELLO, I AM AN RN, WITH BSN, M.ED IN HEALTH PROMOTION. I HAVE BEEN A FULL TIME MOM WITH MY THREE CHILDREN FOR ABOUT THE LAST NINE YEARS. MY BACKGROUND IS VARIED, BUT MOSTLY I HAVE WORKED IN HEALTH PROMOTION, FOR INSTANCE, PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING, HEALTH EDUCATION AND SCHOOL NURSING, AS WELL, AS HAVING MY HEALTH EDUCATION CERTIFICATION. I AM NOW READY TO RETURN TO THE WORKFORCE, HOWEVER, I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE ON OBTAINING LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION AFTER HAVING NOT WORKED IN SEVERAL YEARS. I AM INTERESTED IN BECOMING A SCHOOL NURSE IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF MASSACHUSETTS. ANY ADVICE? THANK YOU.:nurse:

Congrats for deciding to go back to work and super congrats for choosing to stay home with your children. I take it that you have kept up your licensure - I have not and have been out of nursing since 1993. I am looking for a refresher course (evening) before I take the RN- Nclex. I am looking and looking but can't seem to find a good refresher course apart from the Kaplan and I don't think that is enough for me at this time.

Anyway sorry to go on but I wanted to say good for you to get back into your professions outside the home!
