Getting Started

Hi I am from St.Louis Missouri and I am looking into various Nursing programs. Can anyone reccommend whcih in the area is best. St.Louis Community College is my main choice but I have heard Chamberlain College is also good.

Also in the mean time how can I gain experience in the field. I have been a Fitness Trainer and Massage Therapist but no Nursing experience. I am open to any suggestions, I really need to work and if I have to find a job I want to be able to gain experience in the field before I chose a posisiton that has nothing to do with my goals. Thanks!

Hello. I am just starting out as well. In fact I have just started the application process. But my best freind is an RN and she told me that a lot of people who went to Nursing school with her worked as a Patient Care Assistan in a Hospital. She did tell me that not all hospitals use PCA's but I just recently applied to a Hospital in my area. They do not require you to have a license so I think its a great way to start your career. Especially while you are in school. I hope this helps!
