Georgetown Anyone?

Published

So after reading a lot of posts I am starting to stress that my application to Georgetown isn't strong enough. They waived my GRE due to my GPA so I didn't take it. I have 2 years experience in a SICU at a level 1 trauma teaching hospital. Did anyone apply and get an interview at Georgetown without being a CCRN or taking the GRE? I am waiting to sit for the CCRN, still studying. Everyone says that they loves RN's from my hospital (WHC) but I feel like that is my strongest portion of my application. I guess there is nothing to do but sit and wait.

Also, anyone know how many people apply and how many people they interview per seat? I ask a lot of questions!! (Obviously stressed out and nervous)

THANKS

Somebody I used to work with got accepted to Georgetown off the waiting list. He had just 1 year SICU exp. and no CCRN that I know of...high GPA though.

Good luck!

The 2 people I know that got in the program were accepted before they went to Georgetown's undergrad program, contingent on getting ICU experience. They could basically choose when to go. One is in this year's fall class and one is waiting for fall 2009. I know a few others that weren't CCRN certified that got in no problems. One worked on my unit weekends during school because the PTB's decided a year into the program that the student's ICU experience wasn't strong enough.

CNistler---what unit are you on? I worked 4G until September. :)

I got an interview but I don't know if they give everyone that is qualified an interview or not. Does anyone know though?

I work on 3G :)

Hey Guys,

I am new here. I have 2.5 years of experience in a large CTICU unit in Texas. I am also applying to Georgetown CRNA school. I submitted my application close to the deadline, and I received a confirmation that my application is "now complete" on the 23rd of October. I have not heard back from them since. I know they start interviewing in November, is it safe to assume that I am not offered an interview if I have not heard back from them by now? I want to hear what you guys think before I call them.

Thanks for your input in advance.

Have a good Night.

Just Curious ..How much was your GPA score? and where did u do your bachelors? Good luck with your interview....

I applied to Georgetown pretty late. They also waived the GRE for me.

I just recently found out that I got an interview. I am interviewing there on Nov 20.

I have had about 1.5 years experience in a MICU at a tertiary care, university medical center.

I am studying for the CCRN right now. But, I have not taken it yet.

Has anyone received a decision from Georgetown for the Fall 2009 class? I've been tormenting myself since the interview. Also, does everyone get the "I hope to see you" line at the end of the interview. Does it mean anything?

Thanks,
