FIU Accelerated program Spring 2018

Just wanted to start a thread on this upcoming admission cycle for FIU's accelerated nursing program. I just finished taking the TEAS for the second time and gathering all my materials to submit to FIU. Does anyone know if they're really competitive?? Bleh freaking out, my TEAS score is just a 71%, and gpa is avg.

The last email I received said that's they were waiting on everyone's final grades in order to begin selecting who to interview. They said it could take a while depending on how long everyone took to send it in. I know mine had to be sent via regular mail so it could take a while. Hopefully they have received everyone's by now! I already have my interview scheduled with FAU for next Friday and their app was due in August.

The hurricane probably slowed up the process. Schools were closed for like a week and a half so I'm sure they're behind. I've been going crazy from waiting too í ½í¸ª

Was going to say exactly this. Also, the hurricane likely set them back by a week or so because most Florida schools were closed for quite a while during the recovery process down here. Since it's coming up on a month since they sent out that last email, I think we could expect some news within the next couple weeks.

Incessantly checking my email for any updates as well. Good luck everyone : )

lol Yup! me too. Not sure if I should check email or the FIU site. lol Hopefully, we hear from them soon.

Hey friends! I just received an email informing me that I was chosen for an interview. Those who were also chosen will likely receive the same email shortly. Best of luck everyone!

I just got my email too! So excited!

Me too! I'm so excited! Looking forward to meeting you all, best of luck with interviews!

Hi guys! Good luck to everyone interviewing! I was just wondering if you had any ideas how the interviews were constructed. Is this going to be one-on-one or group interview? I saw that it's a long day and they did say to bring lunch.

Looks like they'll be one-on-one interviews with either a member of the nursing faculty or the administration, according to the email. I believe they say it's going to be a long day because you don't get your interview time until you actually arrive on campus, so you have to stay all day even if your meeting is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.

I see. So you could be hanging out there for a few hours without actually speaking with somebody. Makes sense.

Got my invite, I'm excited!

Anyone else today?
