Fingerprinting

Hello,

I am a nursing student in NC and I have been looking at the posts for NC and I have a question about fingerprinting. I read another person's question and she had a similar situation to mine. I did something in my distant past that I am not proud of but the charges were dropped. I was never "convicted". My record is squeeky clean and I am already employed by a hospital as a tech. But now I am concerned about the fingerprinting process. Can anyone tell me what will come up once I do my fingerprints? I have had several background checks and they have all come up clean. My situation did not involve violence or DUI or anyhting like that. It was just an unfortunate situation all the way around. I, like this other girl, did not realize what the fingerprinting would mean. I graduate in May and I want to make sure that I am okay. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The other post was in 2005. I just wanted updated advice.:)

I'm sorry you're facing this situation. However, no one here at allnurses.com can adequately answer your question. You need to contact the NCBON. They are usually very understanding if someone is honest with them. The key here is honesty and full disclosure. Best wishes to you for great success in your future career as a nurse.
