Fingerprinting process

Published

Hey everyone... So I was from NY and transferred to NJ and had to complete the paperwork to complete the requirements. Just waiting for the fingerprinting documents alone took almost 3 months.... VERY FRUSTRATING...

Now I took my fingerprinting last week.. What do I expect ? Will this be another 3 months ? I hope not... Any tips ?

Sorry but I'm really frustrated with NJBON

Hi there! We are in the same boat...I am licensed in state of vermont, I sent my application to NJ board last dec 16th ,did my finger print on jan. My application was updated last jan 24th and still some of the checklist is still unchecked . Tried to call the office many times and said it will take 3 to 12 weeks .

Wait.. WHAT ???? You did your fingerprinting on Jan and you still haven't gotten your license ??? It's already March! 3-12 weeks wait again ?? AFTER THE FINGERPRINTING ????????? WOW... this is unacceptable..

Some nurses drove to Newark and got their license on that day. So I guess we have to go there in person .

Is there a wait time that you have to follow before going up there ? When are you going? I might do the same

Well I'm in my 39th week of pregnancy right now , might go there after delivery . You can try calling them and tell them some drama stories it might work cuz some nurses did that and worked. Check your checklist if they got the result of your creminal background then that's the right time to call. Hope you will get it soon please update me if you got it.

Specializes in ICU.

It took me 3 months to finally get my license. You have to check the status of your application online from time to time.when they finally checked or approved the background check i advise you to go personally to the office of board of nursing in newark. They are really nice there. You can get your license number on that day.paper license on the mail after a week.
