I am a 2013 graduate from a ADN program. I FINALLY fought my last battle with the NCLEX monster after 6, yes I said 6, times of taking it!! I was a great student never read s chapter in a text book never had to study things came easy to me. My teachers loved me and would praise me with how well I done in clinical. I graduated with my RN at 20 years old! Everyone was so proud I had a job waiting for me whe I passed boards! I took them shortly after graduation and just knew I'd pass, wrong. 3 out of my class failed and I was one of them. We too again they passed I didn't.. Did I study? Umm.. I thought that's what I was doing. Went back to my tutor and tried again. Failed. By the pint I'm engaged and reinforce to move on with life. I wanted to pass for me, my future, husband and my family, but mostly for me. I gave up and waited about 1 year and attempted to study on my own another failed attempt. Just this past December I decided it was time. I used the Hurst program online and that helped a lot! My husband let me quit my job and a friend I graduated with helped me study every.single.day. I took it in Feburary and to no avail I failed again. Keep in mind this is 5 times at $250/test. And I would go to 265 questions every test I was chasing it. I shook it off and decided to study some more I done 4 NCLEX review books used the cds that come with them and studied my labs like crazy. Last week I told 3 people I was going to take it I didn't want anyone else to know. I went out the night before did not study slept on, woke up went to testing center. I did look at my labs before I went in so they'd be fresh. I was in there about 3 hours walked out confused. I looked the next day and no results showed up..not disappointed this time I said whatever. 2 days after the test I decided to look 1 more time and guess what. My name was there with a license number!!!! That was the best feeling in the world!! I have succeeded! Do NOT give up if you don't get this thing the first time. Do NOT beat yourself up if you don't get it the first 5 times. You WILL get it if you want it!! I studied my ass off and with the best support system it was possible. It's so stressful to your whole family I never even realized how many people were rooting for me!! Good luck to everyone! Never give up!!
