FAU Accelerated Fall 2022 Part time BSN

hey!! I have a Interview on the 16th too! I’m so nervous LOL do you have any idea what question they ask? 

Most likely they will ask us questions about why do we want to be nurses and how can we use our degree in another major into nursing

I am currently in the program and I would not recommend anyone of you to enroll here. I mean that with my whole heart.

There's numerous reasons that would probably be a lot to be so specific about but I will do my best to just give you a general idea. 

1. You'll be teaching yourself EVERYTHING. That has been my experience so far and I am halfway done. It is very frustrating and time consuming. The only thing really part-time about the program is the amount you spend in an actual class setting. 

2. They are unorganized! Due dates are usually given last minute and good luck if you don't meet it. Oh and even if you do, they might just switch up. 

3. Professionalism is stressed so much, yet the faculty lacks just that. You can forget timely responses, straight forward answers, and just basic email ettiequte. Which may seem minor in some instances but it grows to be very annoying. 

4. Personally, my cohort was to be starting clinical rotations this Summer and they were cancelled a week (!) before without adequate reasons as to why. We were not able to talk to anyone about this nor given any adjustments to tuition. 

5. Lots of busy work and no time to study because well you'll teaching yourself everything (as mentioned before). 

6. Oh and that NCLEX rate they love to flaunt? Belongs to FAU boca. Our pass rate is about in the 60s ?

Don't get me wrong there are some teachers who do try their best to support you but for the most part the program just feels like a waste money. As if we're paying for access to resources and they get to sit back and relax. 

My only advice if you do decide on this program, is to build a good relationship with your cohort and even find a small group of friends to study with. A lot of time and dedication is going to be needed, just as with any program, however majority of us are full time workers and have families so it is significantly harder.
