I am a long time lurker on allnurses and I have finally decided to make a post! I have applied to Salem State and Umass Boston traditional BSN programs for the fall of 2011 and I was wondering if anyone has any insight on either of these programs. This will be my second degree. I graduated from Northeastern with a BS in graphic design just last year, so this is a complete 180 for me, as I know I cannot have a 9-5 desk job much longer! I cannot wait to start my nursing career. (Of course now I am getting the "I told you so" from my mother who is also a nurse!) I would like to do this sooner rather than later, and I am so incredibly grateful I have the opportunity to do so. I sometimes wish that I had changed my major to nursing when I originally had doubts about my graphic design, but everything happens for a reason, so there's no use dwelling in the past. :) I am in the process of taking pre-reqs right now so I can hopefully jump into nursing courses as soon as possible. Any insight on Umass Boston and Salem State or any other advice would be greatly appreciated!
