Failed UNF interview

:scrying:

I had my interview at UNF last week for the Prelicensure nursing program for summer 2008. I just got my letter yesterday saying I didn't get in. I am reapplying for Fall 2008 and need some help with interview questions. In my last interview, they asked what has tested your integrity?. I didn't know how to answer. I forgot what the word integrity even meant, and so did the other four girls in the interview. We were all silent for at least a minute. I doubt any of us got in. Does anyone know how to answer that question? Other questions they asked are: "What qualities do you think a nurse should have?" and "Is there something you would like to add to your resume but have never been able to find the right category for? If so, what is it?"

I am sorry to hear you had trouble. Yes, when put on the spot I would probably freeze as well. Here are my suggestions: You know they are looking for people with strong ethics and are not the type of people who will crumble in the face of adversity. They are looking for people who are capable of critical thinking skills as well. I would just have a few stories in my mind of times when I displayed these traits. For example: Growing up in a poor neighborhood that was plagued with illegal drug use, and my best friend wanted me to try cocaine with her. Her new boyfriend was pushing her to try it. I told her I didn't want to. She seemed upset with me at the time, but I think it gave her the opportunity to tell her boyfriend that I was the reason why she wouldn't do it.

I know, that story is lame, but try thinking about times when you overcame obstacles, showed intiative, or just did the right thing. Then go into the interview and pull them out when you get asked questions like that.
