Failed my nclex

Published

I just failed my nclex, I took it yesterday got the results this morning and I failed. I am feeling pretty depressed right now, basically at my lowest point in my life right now. I am stressed out because I am out of money, I budgeted my entire savings to save and last me through until this exam.

I was wondering if anyone can offer me some tips. I used the NCBSN course and UWORLD.

Please anyone help me....

I know you're feeling bad right now but it will get better. For next time, focus on the things you might have done wrong when preparing for this exam and change strategies. What you don't want to be is one of those people who keeps making the same errors time and time again and have to take the test several times before they pass. Maybe you should try Kaplan. It worked for me. It's not inexpensive but it was worth it.

The Nclex may be one of the hardest exams you will take in your life. Not passing it is by no means a reflection on your intelligence or your ability to become a great nurse one day. There are people who get excellent grades in nursing school but fail Nclex. Honestly, this exam is probably 50% knowledge and 50% strategy. Heck, I think the strategy percentage is probably even higher. It's all in knowing how to take this kind of test.

Easier said than done but please try not to beat yourself up over this. Please look to the future and have the belief that you will do well next time. Good luck. :)

Thank you Vanessa for you kind words during this difficult time in my life. I think the worst part is when my friends are constantly asking if i passed or not. I made the decision not to tell anyone just yet. I am so embarrassed, and I feel alone in this.

I had used NCSBN course and the uworld q bank, and I am wondering what I am doing wrong. I felt really confident, but I guess I really struggles with prioritization, understanding arterial blood gases and infection control. I need some advice and don't know how long I should even wait to go back through this traumatic experience.

I feel if I wait too long, I'll forget everything is studied, but if I take it too soon I will end up failing again and loose my provisional licence. Need some help and recommendations on how to pass... what materials did you guys find helpful in terms of prioritization.

If I were you, I wouldn't wait too long to get started again. Like I said earlier, I used Kaplan and Kaplan only. The course not only has a great qbank but gives you the essential strategies on how to take Nclex. Don't waste your time going back to the same tools you used before. Totally change your methods of preparation for next time. If you do what you did before, your outcome may be the same and this is what you're trying to avoid.
