I am looking at all of the AP options and most require one years of experience and a BSN. Many also want you to apply one year before the start of classes. So if you are a ADN prepared RN working on a BSN (a one year program) and working in the appropriate field for experience (i.e., cc for CRNA, l&d for CNMs, etc.) do you apply so that you will have one year of experience and your BSN when you start the program or do you need the experience/BSN when you apply?
Thanks

I don't think the degree matters. It's based on how much experience you have as an RN in the field the grad school requires.
So if you have at least 1 year experience as an RN with an ADN degree, then get your BSN, your experience counts toward the requirements.

Thanks. I have a degree in Physics already. Does that count to having a degree or do you need a BSN. Also, do you apply after you already have your 1 year experience or do you apply while you are getting your experience?

Your degree in physics will definitely count. Many schools do not require you to have a BSN. However you will need statistics and health assessment for most if not all MSN programs. i am am not sure if they also require Nursing research.
You will need to have the 1 year experience by the time the program begin. So you can start applying now if you will meet their minimum requirements .
