Erwin Tech, LPN program

Published

Hello all, I am currently looking into going to Erwin Tech in October, IF I get accepted. I have so many questions though and have not heard back from the advisor. I definitely want to bridge over from LPN to RN once I complete the program at Erwin. But do they bridge with anyone like other schools? I am thinking that maybe I should just go to Allied or maybe Galen because they show that they bridge within their programs. But for the price of the Erwin program I would really like to stay there. And will Erwins credits transfer to another college to bridge? Can anyone help? Thanks!

Hi.

I too am going to try to do the same thing with the bridge....I'm trying for the Jan '12 evening class. I know for the HCC Bridge they let you finish in 3 instead of 4 semesters but you still have to do the pre-reqs! Here is what Erwin's website said:

How does a LPN advance to a RN?

Licensed Erwin graduates may apply to local community colleges and receive credit toward their registered nursing course. They still must complete prerequisite courses before admission and will graduate as Associate Degree nurses.

They may also go to USF for a bachelor's degree in nursing; however, USF does not grant any credit for LPN status.

Hmm....so I'd still have to take anatomy and micro and everything at HCC and then still wait to get into the program which could be another year AFTER I finish those pre-reqs (been through it all before), if that's the case it's not even worth it. Erwin is not looking good in my eyes now, I'm thinking that I should probably just go to a school who bridges within the school....
