Erwin May 2014 Class

Hello! I am starting in the Erwin Tech May 2014 class on May 5 and wanted to start a page for anyone interested in sharing experiences, looking for study groups or connecting with fellow classmates. Feel free to post any time!

Hi I hope all is going well at Erwin. How is the class so far? I am trying to get in for the January class. How was the initial process to get in? I've been studying online to go an take the TABE test soon. I want to make sure I get a spot for the January daytime class. Was the TABE test hard? Then a TEAS test follows, right? I'm 30 with 2 daughters and haven't been to school in a while so that's why I am studying to ensure I pass it with the first shot at taking them. I definitely need a career change and have always been interested in Nursing. I will also apply at Brewster Tech to see which one accepts me. Any info you can give me will be useful, thanks :)

The TABE is a review of stuff you learned in hs. It's also the test people taking GED courses have to take in order to "graduate." TEAS was more intensive. I ordered the study guide from ebay, but the book and the test don't match exactly. We're in our second week of classes and as a wife and mother who also works AND studies, I can tell you that it's going to take some getting used to as well as some serious time management.

What's the name of the study guide book? Yeah I agree it will take some getting used to because with me already working full time and being a mother and wife it's already enough to juggle but I'm up for the challenge. Best of luck in your journey to becoming a nurse :)
