Hello to all! I've browsed this site for a couple years now and have finally decided to join. I'm a new nurse, graduated May 2011. I began my nursing career working on a busy orthopedic floor. I've been on my own for about 8 months now and have now been promoted to a charge nurse position (I will still be doing floor nursing but will fill in as charge when needed). So far I feel like I'm doing pretty good and continue to learn as much as I can. My dream before I starting nursing school was to become an ER nurse. My question is: am I gaining enough experience here to eventually go into the ER? My plan was to stay where I am and get my BSN and then apply for an ER position. Any advise or words of wisdom are greatly appreciated!!
