just thought you all might find this interesting. In the greater phoenix area tonight, 16 hospitals on diversion (or rotation=opened back up by dispatch). 3 hospitals are on "caution". 16 are open. So approx 50% of phoenix hospital er's are on diversion tonight. Glad I'm at home. Diversion doesn't work......I don't know what the answer is, but it just puts a huge burden on the "open" hospitals. Just creates a domino effect. We are especially having problems with peds beds due to RSV. Not as bad as a couple years ago. At that time we were sending sick kids out of state to New mexico, California and Colorado. What a mess.

somebody, somewhere needs to figure out what to do with the state of our ER's. It certainly is a system that needs to be fixed.
