When asking non-healthcare people to describe what comes to mind as they think of nursing, words that come up include caring, loving, selfless, kind, dedicated and attentive. Attached is a word cloud of these descriptions provided by non-healthcare friends and family. 

While nursing and healthcare are ever-evolving, the last few years have made a significant impact. Nurse burnout, workplace violence, and increasing workload are hot topics related to a decrease in workplace morale and in some cases, ultimately leading to a career change outside of the profession. 

Sometimes it is difficult to see how others view nursing, especially after a long difficult shift where nothing goes as planned and no one seems happy. Let this word cloud be a reminder, and a motivator, as to what the driving force and purpose behind the profession is.
