U.S.A. Kentucky

Hi there,

I'm accepted into the ADN program for January! Super excited. Finishing up my vaccines and will be able to register in another week. Wanted to see if I could find other classmates and or those a semester or 2 ahead. I have a previous Bachelor's degree so most of the Gen ed I have finished. I spent the past year PT at EKU taking all my Science classes so all those except Chem are done as well. I will either be doing my clinical in Berea or Richmond. Whichever is still open by the time I can register! Hope to speak soon and/or see you in January

Hi!! I'm finishing up first semester right now! It's hard, not impossible, but you really have to work hard. If you like the hospital, go for Richmond. It's the only clinical not in a Long Term Care facility and it's where I went, I really liked it. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need any advice on anything, I'll gladly help you out!

My biggest piece of advice is to brush up on your math skills for the dosage calculation test at orientation. You do get 3 tries to pass it. The dosage calc book they have you buy is helpful, but the most helpful thing for me was the dosage calc help they posted on blackboard before the semester began. Congratulations on getting in!

Another thing: With Chem, if you can get *****, DO IT. He's fantastic!

hey sorry it took like 3 months to get back to you! For whatever reason I never get my notifications from here! I passed dosage with a 95% thank God, but had to take it 3x. It wasn't the math so much that tripped me up bu the conversions and remember how many mLs in an oz etc! Glad it's over! And YES the dosage practice test was much more helpful.

I've heard ***** is awesome. I won't take Chem this semester, but in the Fall. I'm doing my Clinical in Richmond now. Is it in Med/Surge? Thanks for the advice! I'm ready to get this semester underway btw. NUR 114 instructors are pretty awesome! :)
