Epidermolysis Bullosa. I had a 50ish Alzheimer's patient, former RN, who had a very mild case. It was nothing compared to what I found when I looked it up! My heart goes out to them!

just had twin patiets, most horrible case I have every done, one twin passed, they other not doing well if anyone every comes across this PLEASE

I currently care for a pediatric client w/RDEB. She has battled this since birth. Skin care is a very complicated process. After bathing, all wounds are dressed usually with a petrolium based product, covered with a non-adhesive, such as Mepitel, Mepilex, or Mepilex Transfer. And then arms and legs are wrapped with gauze cling. Mepilex Transfer is WONDERFUL because you can use it for wounds that cannot be wrapped d/t location, such as shoulder, buttock. It is certainly a challenge for her, but she is resilliant. She is determined to be like every other 12yr old girl.
