Doula Services

Are there any nurses out there certified in doula care?

Featured Replies

As an LDRP nurse and Lamaze childbirth educator & a mum of 2 I've learned lots about helping women in labor/delivery/post partum and so many friends and family members ask me to be their doula.. which I have done, and it was the most rewarding, bonding experience imaginable!! After contacting DONA and being told that I would have to take their certification class I haven't done any doula work lately... I think I am fully qualified to be a doula and do not want to pay and take a cert class...... but that's the standard I suppose! I have been traveling and unable to attend deliveries that I've been asked to doula for but hopefully when I'm burnt out as an LDRP nurse I will be fired up to become certified... I'd love to hear other people's take on this!
