Hello everyone!. Ive just finished the TABE requirement for the LPN program at Erwin. I realize that I also have to take the TEAS exam also. Although the program doesnt start until August 2010, im trying to get everything done in a timely manner. I know that Erwin used to use the lottery system to fill their LPN program. The question I have is that since Erwin is using the TEAS exam as one of the requirements, do they still use a lottery system? Also, has anyone taken the TEAS Exam? If so, how was it. Ive recently bought the Nursing Entrance Test Exam book by Kaplan. Is this enough to score well on the TEAS exam? Im really starting to get discouraged:yawn:. I wont give up though. Im 24. Im trying to further my nursing education as much as I possibly can.. Is there another route I can take just in case I dont make the LPN program at Erwin? Erwin is my first choice school though. But, I got to have a back up plan.

Yes they still use the lottery system. With the TEAS exams they will probably take the top 80%. I took the TEAS and passed, the math and science are tricky...I would go with studying from the actual TEAS guide found on ATI because it gets your mind thinking in the exact form of the test. THe reading comp and language is a cinch so...focus on the science and math. I passed the exam (according to my school) and got accepted into Erwin's Aug 2009 class....I would say focus only on math and science and you will do great! Now, for the nursing program starting 2009 and on they will use the TEAS as kindof like benchmark testing throughout the program...so it will be good to know the form of the test inside and out! I think it will be used kindof like the HESI that HCC uses.
