Do you think this will help me get to where I want to be faster?

I've only been in college for a full semester and working on my second. I plan on nursing school and I'm pretty positive I want to either specialize in OB, Pediatric or Pediatric Oncology. I'm working on a minor in Family and Child Development which I'll have completed before I go to nursing school. Do you think that minor could possibly help me get to be where I wanna be faster once I graduate?

I wouldnt hurt but honestly, once you have RN behind your name, you can get a job almost anywhere :) ive always wanted pediatrics and a month after I graduated, I was offered pedi ER job I wanted. 3 months after high school, i was sotting in lvn school... graduated and went into pedi home health while i went to school for my RN and now i'm here :) super excited. If you want to be in nursing, get your pre reqs and go to nursing school! Good luck!

I am currently getting my pre-reqs done as we speak for nursing school, and by advice of a past Nursing Program Advisor (at the same school) am taking required courses also. 4 courses in all as of right now and 2 more pre-reqs this summer. In two years, I should be complete with the RN (ADN) program. I am super excited can't wait. I agree with @Gina_Marie, once you have those 2 letters behind your name, the opportunities will open up. Good luck to you and just think about what is best for you! You know the path you wish to take!
