I have been, from what I gather, busting my but at UNLV as a pre-nursing student. Recently, UNLV changed their policy of accepting applicants into the nursing program, as if it wasn't already super competitive. We work based on a point system, A=4.0 points, A-= 3.7 points etc. You then have to calculate a science based GPA, which totally throws my university gpa of 3.75 out the window, basically all that work I thought I was doing is useless. We have this weird calculation sheet to add up out points, we need 88 to be considered eligible for admission, meaning that I kind-of have to get 90s on all portions of my HESI A2. I need a back up plan! Are there other options if I don't get into UNLV's? Switching schools maybe ?
