DCCC admission- Fall 2008

Published

anyone here currently taking classes at Delaware County Community College in PA and looking to apply for Fall 2008 entry into nursing? I am wondering if anyone knows how competitive the program is. I start my non-nursing classes at the Summer I session, and should be done all of them by the time Fall 2008 would start.

Hello,

I probably don't qualify but I thought I'd replay as I am currently a first year, second semester NS with this program. I am at the CCH campus. It is a very competitive program. This year was the first year that they began an evening/weekend program and it filled up very quickly. I don't know if you have taken the mandatory NET yet but the higher the score the better. What I mean by that is a composite of 80 or better. They say the minimum is 75 (I think) but most of my classmates had better than 80. Some have even scored 95 or more.

Best wishes to you.

thanks for getting back to me. i am looking for the evening/weekend program at CCH also. I took the NET test last year when i was going to apply to CAT-Brandywine for LPN, but decided not to go that route. I lost my NET results so i am waiting to get another copy in the mail. I know i had done well, but i dont remember what exactly my scores were. When i get them back again, I will decide then if i should re-take it for a higher score.

Hi JR,

Would you mind sharing with me why you aren't going to go to CAT Brandywine?

Just curious, please don't share if you don't want to. I have a good friend who went throught their program and liked it. I considered it myself except for two reasons. 1: the cost, it is quite expensive. When I was looking at it a couple of years ago, it was around $15K and 2: RNs start off at a higher salary and more/better job opportunities than LPNs.

As I said, just curious.

Good luck on your endeavors!

cherry,

the exact same reasons as you have listed! that, and their evening hours started around 4pm, clinicals at 3, and i cant make that work with my job. but other than that, the main reason is that i decided i would rather do an rn program so that i have better job prospects.
