Connecticut Community College Nursing Program (CT-CCNP) Fall 2025 Questions

Hi all,

Planning on applying this coming application cycle to the CT CCNP for Naugatuck Valley. Has anyone ever transferred pre-reqs from Goodwin? Or transferred in any credits at all that are pre-reqs that count for Nursing GPA? If so, how do they calculate them into the nursing GPA?

Thanks and good luck to everyone applying this fall!

Hi, I have not transferred in but I've completed my pre-req's all at CT State CC, taken the TEAS test and I am also applying for the Nursing program when the application period opens. What I do know though, is a 25% of pre-req courses have to be completed with the college you're looking to attend to gain admission with as well. So for example if all pre-req's are through Goodwin then CT State community college will decline your application, but if you have 1, maybe 2 pre-req's to transfer from Goodwin then you're probably good. Have you met with an advisor with the community colleges yet? I would think that your Nursing GPA would be factored the same way. They also require that all transfer credits have a minimum grade of a C+ but it is competitive so you really want above that.
