As a Nursing student, the area I take the greastes interest in is surgery. I just have a few questions that i am a bit unsure about as far as CRNA and also what to know some personal perspectives if that is ok, Answers will be greatly appreciated( short, long, what ever as long as some reponses) Also writing a paper based on this.
1)How is the stress level compared to that of a regular OR nurse? Seems like a tremendous amount of responsibilty.
2)What is the actual scope of practice parameters for a CRNA compared to that of a anesthesiologist (MD), what can you do and can't do( I have heard of them doing. Is malpractice insurance the same for both. Also the two-three masters program compared to the 4 years med school and years of residency of a doctor, do you feel just as trained.
3)last, is it a great job, the money seems great and seems to be a very prestigious for a RN. With such a focus position and responsiblity, Might there be a greater burn out rate for a CRNA then that of just a regular RN or is this a job you see youself doing until you retire.
Thanks to all that respond. CRNA seems like a great job and with the speciality that RN's can take in the feild makes me feel like going this RN route is the best decision i evry did, I am sure though i will still have my ups and downs though, but who doesn't. Thanks agains
