I currently working as a Hopsitalist nurse practitioner on a med/surg/tele unit and have been for over four years at a VA Medical center. I have an MSN with my certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner as well as prescriptive authourity. The job is rewarding but stressfull and the pay is low with little chance for advancement. I have been recently thinking of a career change and have been looking at CRNA programs. The problem is, all of the programs seem to be geared towards BSN to CRNA with no real credit for the education I already have. The programs are also quite long - 24 months or longer. Since I am 44 years old, and am my only financial support - this is too long. Is anyone aware of a program that will give my some credit for my experience and education to date? I feel certain a creditable program exists but as of yet have been able to locate one. Thanks in advance for any info.
