Concerned 13/24 possible fail out rate in 2nd qtr.

What are common pass rates for nursing programs? I am concerned thinking there may be a nearly 13/24 fail out rate where I am at in 2nd qtr. thus far that is where class stands. We have two test left. it is 2nd qtr of the 1st year. What is typical?

Does anyone know is high fail out rates (not drop out) can affect accreditation? What motivation is there for a college to provide a higher level of education other than reputation alone?

It's hard to say, especially if LPNs join in after first year intro courses. Out of the original class I started with, I'd say 50% or less made it through on first attempt, although as I said, we had returning students, repeaters, and LPNs join at various points which skews that number on official graduation statistics.

My ADN class started with approximately 65 students, 1st year-1st quarter. 2 years later 30+ completed the program, 1 failed during the last week of class before graduation. The rest dropped out or transferred to other areas of study over the course of the 2 years. Most left during the med/surg rotation during the 2nd semester of our 1st year. We had a 100% NCLEX pass rate for the 30+ who did graduate though.
