Concept based nursing

Are there any nurse educators here that were involved in redesigning their curriculum to one that is concept-based? I have written my dissertation proposal and I am getting ready to go to my IRB. I am not seeking participants at this time but wondering if I have a viable study. I have found a few nursing faculty members that are supportive but only a few. Can anyone help me out here? Marie

It is my understanding that nursing programs throughout the entire North Carolina Community College System just recently went through a major concept-based curriculum revision, so that all nursing programs throughout the state are now on the same page. Any faculty in these programs could be potential participants in your dissertation research :)

We are embarking on curriculum revision at my ADN program in Arizona and are looking at QSEN competencies and the recommendations from the IOM report on nursing to guide our framework. Hope this helps. Good luck on your dissertation!

New Mexico is in the process of developing a concept-based stewide curriculum. Here is the link to what has been developed thus far.

My school is in the infancy stages of redesign. I think you definitely have a viable study. By the time you're ready to send out your survey, I'm sure I'll be able to provide some input.

We have just developed a new School of Nursing using a concept-based curriculum that is cross-walked with the QSEN compentencies and the BSN essentials. It was quite a project but flows very nicely and we will be implementing it this fall in two formats: Traditional BSN and Accelerated BSN. We are Anderson University (SC) School of Nursing - Anderson University - School of Nursing

Hi Marie,

Our Canadian baccalaureate program is currently developing a concept based curriculum. You likely have a viable study. As always the challenge will be keeping to a manageable sized question. I'd be pleased to participate.

best wishes,

Terri

Hi Marie, I am conducting research and writing my dissertation on concept-based nursing curriculum. I would love to talk to you. What school are you attending?
