Compact License?

I have a license issued in NM. Does that mean that, if I want to work in another compact state I don't have to do any paperwork?:uhoh3:

I'm no expert but I don't think that's what it means. If NM has a compact with another state to which you move you can work on a temporary license pending your new license and it is transferred easily, fill out a form, send in the money and you're good to go.

If the state you move to does not have a compact with NM then you have to apply, and the application includes where you went to school, proof that you graduated, background check etc but I think you can still work on a temporary license until you receive the new one.

If you are still living in NM but you drive across state lines to work, then you would not have to get that state's license if everyone was in the compact. If you move your place of residence then you must apply for that state's license.

The compact was made to assist nurses who travel with companies or provide telephone triage, etc. across state boundary lines but maintain their same place of residence.
