College of the Canyons RN Program

Hey guys. So I'm hoping to get into the nursing program at COC, and im hoping to just get a good idea about the program itself and how it has effected everyones schedules.

How have the hours been each semester? Has it effected your work schedule greatly? I have a 8-4 job and i'm hoping I will be able to get classes towards the end of the day.

Are you able to choose the times?

How do the classes work? I see on the COC RN website that it lists

Nursing 112 Foundations of Nursing

Nursing 114 Fundamentals of Nursing

Nursing 124 Beginning Medical/Surgical Nursing

Nursing 126 Psychiatric Nursing (Psych 101

prerequisite)

Nursing 234 Intermediate Medical/Surgical Nursing

Nursing 236 Maternal Child Nursing

Nursing 240 Advanced Medical/Surgical Nursing and Leadership

Are there actually more than these? Are the classes split into parts during the semester? Do any of them overlap?
