CNA CPR Certification?

I will began my job search for my first CNA job in a few weeks, I was wondering if you all felt it neccessary to obtain certification in CPR?

I did see a few jobs the required the certification, though not many.

My CNA cert included CPR /AED ( Profesional Rescuer) certification. It cannot hurt to have it under your belt and may even give you the edge to get the job position you..it can make all the difference between you getting the job over one of the other applicants in this competitve career!

I just got a job at a LTC in my town, I'm not CPR certified yet but I had looked into classes and was going to take one. At my interview I told the DON that I hadn't yet received my certification but I was planning on taking a class, cause like you said places require it.. She told me not to bother with the class because she had a bunch of nurses who needed to take a refresher class as theirs were about to expire so she was going to set something up for August and I wouldn't have to pay for it.

Obviously being CPR certified will not hurt your chances of getting a job, but if you wait you might be able to get it through wherever you get a job.

We are required to be certified.
