Chemeketa Nursing Program

Hey all! I am new to this site. I love the idea of the Chemeketa nursing program for multiple reasons. I want to apply Winter 2015 but I have a few B's in the prerequisites. I figured if I were to get 50/50 on my essay I would come out with 352.5 points/360. Is this just a joke for me to even think about applying? I hear so many different things. I could retake some of my prerequisites but honestly, I really don't want to! Haha. I took most of them about 10 years ago and wasn't sure what I wanted to do so I didn't think A's were THAT important. Anyway, I have a "B" in Wr121, CS101, and one other elective. I have A's and B's in the A&P.

Thanks in advance!

Ps. I have CNA experience in the Hospital. Not sure if that helps at all?

That score would not make it in the last couple years of applicants... Sorry to break it to you but the absolute minimum I would recommend is 356, and even then you may not get in. Also, you honestly dont want to bank on a 50/50, many people with perfect straight A's still dont get in because of the essay. The essay is the easiest part to lose points on. Used to be even people with perfect 360s didnt get in the compition was so tough. Also if your prereqs are too old you may have to retake them anyways. I would visit the main office at the college and get advice from a counselor there. The a's and b's in a&p are good enough as long as they have not expired. Cna experience is great for once you are in the program, but does not give you a leg-up on getting into the program. If you need clarification just ask.

Thank you for the response! I really appreciate it. The only old classes are the few pre requisites. The Bio classes have all been done in the last couple years. I have met with a few advisors and honestly, they each have a different view. One told me to apply and one told me to look into dental hygiene as it isn't as competitive! Haha. I just wanted a few view points from fellow students :) Thank you again! I kind of figured it wouldn't be worth applying with those B's.

You still have time to retake those 3 classes you received B's;). The last term you can take them is Winter term 2015 and you can still apply for the program in February. I took my last 2 BI classes Winter term right before I applied this year. Good luck!
