Chaffey college nursing program

Hi, everyone!

I will apply for the nursing program at Chaffey college in Rancho cucamonga next year but I saw a lot of bad rumor at Chaffey on this site.. Does anyone knows that nursing instructors are still horrible and many studends drop the classes because of them?

Thank you,

Hi Aya1211. Have you heard anything further about Chaffey's nursing program? I too have read all the negative reviews yet most of them were a few years old. I will probably be applying in a year -- I still need to finish my sciences. Also, have you attended one of their Information Sessions that are held on Fridays at the beginning of every month?

Hi, DancingInTheDark

No, I haven't heard anything updated information yet. I hope all of bad rumor was the past problem.

Are you currently attending to Chaffey college? Ive been to VVC and need 3 more sicence classes as well as you.

No, but I will be attednig the information session on this Fri,12/09/16 and hope i can get helpful info there!

Yes, I'm currently at Chaffey and have only gone here. I'm really hoping I can get one of the science classes done during the summer since they're the only thing holding me back.

I was planning on attending Friday's session but now I don't think I can. If you end up attending, can you please let me know what kind of info they provided you with/what you learned from it? I'll still attend one of the future sessions but any info you could provide me with would be really helpful. Thanks for your help.

I'm sorry for the late response!

Yes, definitely! I will write what I learned on Friday!

Did you end up going to Friday's information session? I had to work so I missed it. Anything you can share about it? Thanks.

Yes! I attended the information session on Fri! Around 100 people were there and the classroom was completely full! I got a lot of helpful info on that day!

(Admission)

every semester, they get 100 applications and take only 40 plus 10 alternate because some students apply for RCC or citrus at the same time and go there if they get accepted!

They just want students' GPA(prerequisite 2.8 and G.E 3.0 only so either 3.0 or 4.0 is the same for them. They pick up students randomly from students who holds 2.8 and 3.0 or higher)

students who hold bachelor or have military experience have priority to get into the program.( they can get higher points)

(program)

unfortunately, 5 or 6 students drop the first semester because the program is so tough.

some students still have a job even they are in the program.

Students have to finish all of the nursing classes within 6 semesters even you get maternity leave or sickness.

Clinical hospital ( San Antonio, kaiser Fontana, Moreno Valley, Pomona valley, lake arrowhead regional) once a week. 1st semester 8-2:30, 2nd semester 8-11am, 3rd semester 9-noon, I don't remember for 4th semester. Sorry! Hours may change)

if you think you are ready for apply, get an appointment with nursing counselor named Celeste Mor 909-652-6200. She could receive your transcription and proceed your application!

Thanks so much for the info!!
