Hello

Can anyone please guide on what to do first after clearing ielts to work as RN in New Jersey. I am a Registered Nurse in India.

I am not sure if you are still working toward coming to US to work as a nurse. Anyway, there are several things to be done.

To start with, please review CGFNS.  You will need to get credential evaluation done along with visa screening.

Contact/Apply for RN licensure in New Jersey Board of Nursing to find out your eligibility to take the NCLEX exam.

And, if you don't have a green card or H1B visa, you need a US based employer or a recruiting agency to apply for an immigrant visa for you.

All the best!

Hi Varghese,

British Council has sent my IELTS(Academic) result electronically since January 4, 2023 but CGFNS is yet to update my result despite the fact that I have updated my profile with the TRF number and other related details. How long does it take CGFNS to update my english test result on my profile please?

Thank you

Hi Muyiwatalks,

I apologize for late response. I hope you got your IELTS results updated. Where are you in your process? Best wishes on you getting your RN license here in US.

Hi Varghese,

My IELTS has been updated and in the final stages of getting my visa screen, I am on the look out for a suitable employer to help file EB-3 Immigration visa.

Thank you

Hi Muyiwatalks

Are you done with your NCLEX exam as well?

What were the steps you followed?

Cathrine.
