I am a student currently working on my pre-requisites for the nursing program. I am a single parent with 1 year old twins and am not able to handle a full college course load. Currently I am looking into various certification programs in the medical field while I slowly finish up classes (6-10 credits at a time now). Originally, I planned on applying to a CNA program but have come to realize that the programs in my area are all a joke. They can't even answer their phone or meet for appointments that they schedule. I am now seeking alternative programs such as Medical Assisting (CCMA) and Radiology Technology (NCT). Which of the two programs would you suggest? Pros and cons to each? What I have heard is that NCTs have a higher demand and higher pay but medical assisting is more hands on work. Any and all advice is appreciated!
