Just wondering what the typical caseload is for other Hospices - also are you in a rural or urban area?

Our nursing home nurses carry caseloads up to 16 and the home care nurses -on occasion up to 14 but we like to keep it no more than 12. We are located in a city but have outlying areas that are covered. Many of the nurses have a combination of pts in the city limits with some in the outlying areas. Because of our larger size with many nurses, we don't have to cover extremely large areas. I've not had to go more than 50 miles out and that was pretty extreme and unusual. Our nurses usually put about 300 miles a week on their cars.
