Can NP's work in administration?

Hi everyone! I am currently deciding what route I would like to take for my master's degree. Ideally, I would like to get my FNP and work in a clinical setting whether it be in the ER or an outpatient clinic.However, since I also have a strong desire to be in a management role (DON, CNO, unit manager, etc.) I would live to transition into management as I get older.

My question is: Is it likely to be offered administrative jobs as a FNP? I feel as though getting my FNP would open both routes to me whereas getting a general MSN in admin would keep me on one side of things.

Any input is appreciated.
