Break between terms??

I want to get started ASAP on my MSN, but am stuck with an unsellable house out of state that's eating up my money, so I have to rely on tuition reimbursement through my employer, which covers less than the cost of one semester. So I'd like to do one semester under 2013 reimbursement, and as long as the second semester goes even one month into 2014, I can claim it for 2014 reimbursement. Unfortunately this means I either can't start until February, or start my first semester soon and take a couple months off between terms if my house doesn't sell by then. Does anyone have experience taking a break between terms, and how easy is it to arrange?

I do know that once you are enrolled, you may take 1, 2 or 3 months for a break, between terms. I asked my mentor about this recently. She said it wasn't difficult to arrange. I don't know what happens if you need more than 3 months in a row, though.
