BMCC Nursing program - how good are my chances? Grades inside.

Right now here are my grades:

A Psy100

A Bio425

A- Eng101

B Mat104

Overall GPA: 3.85

Pre-Req GPA: 3.75

I'm so scared I won't get into the nursing program because I don't have a 4.0 pre req GPA. I'm thinking about retaking Mat104 because I got a B in it. Should I do that? I didn't take the HESI exam yet.

A 4.0 doesn't guarantee acceptance into a nursing program. Personally, the B in math is fine and i wouldn't retake it. I'd hold off on retaking a course until you REALLY have to. For example if you got a C in A&P then i'd consider retaking that course. Best of luck.

Hi [COLOR=#003366]ilchanp93,

I agree with Pretty Please. My grades are very similar and I will be applying for next year as well. They do tell people that you need a super high gpa and u hera so many stories every year but remember that applicant's GPA's vary every year. There is gpa cut off but it all depends on the average gpa's of everyone who is applying. I recently felt some comfort when I chatted with a young lady on here that told me she was accepted for the upcoming semester with a 3.5 and her hesi was in the 80's. she was vey surprised she was accepted so dont worry. Your gpa is great and just study for the HESI exam, they base their decisions on that as well. Keep your options open and apply to other schools as well. depending if you are applying to day or evening, there are many options in the city for nurisng. dont be discouraged and keep your grades up in AP2 and Micro. You should be fine, if not its their loss. Good Luck..keep us posted. :)
