Hi, I'm an l&d nurse and gave a newborn a vitamin k injection today. I've done a lot of them and feel comfortable with them but am kind of worried about the one I gave today. After giving the injection the baby had a little more bleeding than I've seen before (I've had some babies with no bleeding after, some have a little bit) and I noticed some blood in the syringe after finishing the injection. I've never had blood in the syringe before, so I was really worried. I monitored the baby closely after and all was good but I'm still concerned. Has anyone had this before?
