May 12, 201016 yr i'm trying to find out the differnce between being a patient care tech and medical assistant. thanks
May 13, 201016 yr PCT are what nurses aides/assistants use to be in the hospitals in my area. In some hospitals they draw blood, do ekg's, and in L&D they are the tech's in the delivery room as well, who assist the nurses as needed.Medical assistants can give injections in my state (NJ) although you need to be certified. Most are employed at a dr's office. If you want the ability to move up the nursing ladder become an LPN and gradually work your way up. Good Luck!
