Bergen CC Fall 2013 Program

Hey guys,

I saw that there was no post for our group so I decided to create on. How is everyone doing with their Hesi? Also, is someone who is accepted into their program declines admission, do they open up a spot for someone else?

There actually is a thread it's under Burlington county college fall 2013. If someone does decline a spot will open up. Have you gotten your letter yet?

Hi, PCTJon. Are you talking about Bergen Community College? If so, thank you for making the post:). I've got 83 on the cumulative score. The class average score is 77 so far. I just can't stop myself crossing the fingers. According to the last year's post that I search in this website, spot will open if someone decline.

Sorry Heathierose, I was speaking about Bergen Community College.

Bergen Students: Do you know what the averages are on the science portions? Also do you know how long after the April 12 (when the last students take the exam) until the administration makes the decision of who is in? Lastly, if you are rejected, is their a ranking of the rejected that they refer to when someone accepted declines enrollment? If so, do we have access to this list?

There is no requirements for an average score on the sciences on the hesi. I am in level one evening program now and feel your painful waiting. I think I stalked evolve for weeks. From experience I can tell you the hesi is only one factor the admission team looks at. They look at GPA, hesi scores and I believe they rank the students with all factors combined and if there are 60 available seats they admit the top 60 on their list. I have heard people say they had a 2.5 GPA and a 70 cum on the hesi and were admitted. The nursing department really looks at you as a "whole" student overall. Of course this is my personal assumption. I don't think anyone truly knows the methodology behind the admissions process but the last day to take the hesi was November 20th for our group and acceptances/regrets were sent out within 8 days. My best advice is to go get your health care provider CPR/AED certification (american heart association approved) as soon as possible... Get it out of the way and if you need more of a distraction make your appointment with your MD to get all your immunizations up to date, including the Mantaux (ppd) it made getting the paper work done to hand in a lot easier for me. Also remember some applicants did not even get the invitation to sit for the hesi exam so having taken the hesi and done well is already an accomplishment and a step towards that Congratulations! You have been accepted letter. The waiting is rough, I know! Hopefully things haven't changed too much since I applied in October and this is a little helpful! Good luck!

Yes in terms of someone declining their invitation to the nursing program they will fill the open seat with the next person on the top of their list. I do not believe it is accessible to students. No one seems to know too much about this "wait list" but I have read on these forums that people do decline and a previously declined student was admitted. Again things change so quickly and often I am not sure but be confident, think positive and hang in there the wait will end soon!

Good luck everyone!! One more day of testing left!!

Thank you for your advice, you made me feel much better. I think getting the certification and medical check will be perfect distractions I need now;).

Do not drive yourself nuts. There is plenty of time for that during the actually program. Please feel free to PM me or email me [email protected] we just reached our 1/2 way point and I can't explain how amazing it is. I was in your shoes in November, so please don't hesitate ask away!

Today is last day of the exam. If all of the applicants scores were updated now, the final class average is 76. I guess hope up & chin up are all I can and suppose to do.

Where do you find the class average on the evolve website?? Also, I can't wait to meet those who got into the program, supposing that I do get in. We should get together as a cohort to build rapport!

Log in at evolve website, then go to the page where you can see your score. On that page, instead of click on "Admission Assessment Report," click on "+". You will see the scores of each subject you took, and if you click "View Reslut," it will show your score and the class average on that subject. I add all the class average scores from each subject and divide by 6 to get the cumulative score. I hope this will help:)
