beating NCLEX-PN the second time

Published

i told myself i'd do this if i passed the test...the second time around! im doing this to give hope to those who fail and feel miserable as i did when i took the nclex and didnt get the results i'd hope for. during nursing school i didnt consider myself to be one that struggled as much as other students.. i'd say an "average" student. so when i took the test, got to 205 questions, did the pvt and didn't get the "good" pop up, i felt so disappointed. and then the letter in the mail that says, results: "fail" just killed me. i started to question if nursing was really for me. but i gave myself a couple of days to "get over it" and i decided to give it another try..what did i have to lose? (besides another $300) so i signed up, invested in some books, and really disciplined myself. i set goals for myself every single day. i stopped going out, and instead spent my weekends at home reading ati books. i used the ati books, and the kaplan-pn book which i highly recommend. the kaplan has nclex style questions and takes you step by step on how to answer them. when i took the test the second time around it stopped at 85 and i felt a whole lot better. did the pvt and this time...it didnt want to take my money! my hard work paid off...and not to mention...aaaallll the praying i did really helped! so for those who are working on their second, third, fourth time...dont give up! figure out what it is that you need to improve, work on it, and try again! (and pray pray praaaay!) goodluck to all the future nurses!
