Base pay for Maine Nurses

Hey all! I posted this in the Maine nurses forum but figured i'd broaden my inquiry to everyone:

i currently work on the west coast but will be relocating to portland, maine in the near future. i was wondering if anyone knows the base pay for nurses at maine med or mercy hospital? i started at 29.00/hr ( + 5.00/hr night shift differential) as a new nurse two years ago. something tells me hospitals in other states may pay significantly less.... any information about those specific hospitals? thanks.

Having worked in Maine as well as many other states, I can tell you Maine pays significantly LESS.

$18-$23/hour is the average depending on what part of maine.

A good friend of mine, with over 20 yrs experience, recently moved to Maine. She took a $20/hr CUT- granted the housing as well overall COL is very low- so you have to decide what works for you. For her, it was worth it to leave the CA rat race. Good luck!
