bad score

Just took my first TEAS V test and got a 50, I feel like such a huge failure!! I rarely have time to study between work, school, and kids!! How in the world do people get such high percentages on this? I feel like everything in the TEAS book wasn't even on my test, especially the Science section!

If nursing is what you really want to pursue then don't give up. Focus and try your hardest to make time for it. I hear nursing school you pretty much have to give up your life but there are tons of mothers and those with families who are able to do it and graduate-I have two aunts that did and I am sure there are many here who will attest to this.

I think the biggest thing you have to do is 1. Determine how important to you being a nurse is and 2. Make time to study. Get flash cards, study during your lunch break, while the kids are watching tv, tell the hubby to take the kids to a play place so you can study, etc

I took the TEAS today and was actually surprised that it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Granted, there were things I had to guess at but for the most part it wasn't too bad. I won't know my score for 4-5 weeks but just stay focused and make the time to study.

Good luck!

Don't feel like a failure and don't give up!!..I took it last week and received a 54% however I got accepted into the LPN program already mainly due to my 4.0 avg/A's in sciences. I have been out of HS for almost 20 yrs and in everyday life rarely use half the stuff that was on the test. They just wanted to see where everyone was at and would offer help to those that need it. I do have test anxiety and took too much time on each topic so didn't finish so had to leave blank answers at the end of each section..I hate timed test on top of that :(.
