i have never doubted if nigerian certificates are mostly judged not to be up to international standards, i never dreamt this could also happen within nigeria. i had an interview for a new job and guess what the human resource guy had to say, they dont care i have a B.Sc in nursing and my accident and emergency nursing registration is still pending, so i was offered a staff nurse job based on only my RN/RM qualification.
i even learnt that in government jobs the only difference between a nurse degree holder and diploma holder is that the latter is started on step 1,level 8 while the former on step 0,level 8........ funny:o
to think i spent 6years in the university just for a "step 1,level 8" job when i could easily had done a three year diploma nursing course!
please some one tell me thats what obtains in nursing practise in your country?
(i sincerely want to apologise to all those whom my post on "arranged marriage" slighted, i regret my insensitivity).
