Awww - how sweet!

I took care of the most adorable 89 y/o female last week - added bonus was her family was awesome too....

anyway... they thought she fell (she didn't) in her assisted living apartment so brought her in and kept her over noc for observation. She was 100% alert and oriented, able to ambulate on her own safely with her walker etc.

She was my only patient when I came on at 1900... had been sitting up in a chair since 1500 and I offered to help her back into bed, she wasn't ready... no problem. I return at 2030 for qhs meds, and again asked if she wanted to go to bed.... still not ready. Made sure she had the call light handy with instructions to call etc. Peeked in on her a couple more times just to make sure she had everything she needed - I was always greeted with a huge smile, and she tells me in the most motherly voice "Oh honey... you don't have to wait up for me.... go on to bed, I'll tuck myself in" - I just about melted! Just adorable.... here I was trying to pamper her!
