Hey guys, I just wanted to ask and see if anyone is using or has used the ATI NCLEX exam prep course? They're giving it to us as part of our curriculum at my school, but I was just wondering if anyone that has already taken the NCLEX exam found that the ATI program actually helped them or not? Or if you're doing it currently, do you think it's getting your ready for the big test day??

I think the ATI test are a big help with the course work. I have not taken the NCLEX yet.

My school is doing the same. In fact, 10% of our final grade is based upon the score we receive on the ATI test for that particular class. They live by it! We recently had an ATI representative visit our class to discuss the many benefits ATI offers nursing students. In her lecture, she mentioned levels. She said Level 1 is you know the minimum amount of material in the subject matter to pass NCLEX. Then there are Levels 2 and 3. The questions and practice tests are a mock of NCLEX. So, to sum it up, the ATI will ask critical thinking questions over material previously studies to see how much of the content you have absorbed. But here is the cool part…after taking the test; they will tell you your areas of weakness, which I think will be beneficial. No person wants to go back and relearn all of the material. So, for example, if you missed two of the four questions pertaining to burns, your personal report will suggest reviewing the Med-Surg 1 book and gives you the pages numbers to review.
I think it will be a benefit having the ATI exams so that you will know what material to study while continuing through your program. I think too that it may prevent unnecessary studying for the NCLEX. For example, if you got all of your burns correct and your report doesn’t indicate you need additional remediation in that area, it’s one less area to review for the NCLEX.
The ATI counts as 15% of our overall grade. I have to take two more in this final semister. I do use the practice ATI exams as well. I haven't received any thing lower than a level two, and accidently got a level 3. Our last class of the program is based on how well we do on the last ATI's
